I just heard from Irfan this morning that uncle Ijaz had passed away. I was so saddened at this news, and wanted to convey my sympathies to you and to the rest of the family, and of course, auntie in particular. I just heard the very sad news of uncle Batalvi passing away. Please accept my sincerest condolences. May Allah grant his soul eternal peace. All of you are in my prayers and I hope that you are coping with this tragic loss. In hindsight, I am so glad I spent a few minutes with uncle during my last trip a few months ago. A prominent lawyer and an eminent jurist, I had the good fortune of being his student back in 1973 at the Punjab University Law College, Lahore.
